The National Association of Non-Governmental Organisations (NANGO) is proud to present the Annual Narrative Report for 2024, a comprehensive account of how the organisation has continued to lead, adapt, and deliver under immense pressure. This report goes beyond numbers. It captures the real impact of civic action in a year defined by complex legal reforms, shrinking civic space, and economic uncertainty. It details how NANGO, together with its members and partners, navigated the evolving policy landscape—especially the controversial PVO Amendment Bill—and remained steadfast in advancing rights-based development, institutional resilience, and localisation. From facilitating multi-stakeholder dialogues to championing policy advocacy, enhancing governance, and delivering strategic convenings like the NGO Directors’ Summer Retreat and the CSO Symposium on World NGO Day, this report reflects our unwavering commitment to protecting and promoting civic space in Zimbabwe. We invite all stakeholders—government, development partners, and the public—to read the report and engage critically with the insights, lessons, and calls to action that will shape our collective work in 2025 and beyond.
