Welcome to the April 2026 edition of the *NANGO Development Watch Newsletter*—an edition that captures both the achievements and the pressing issues shaping Zimbabwe’s civil society landscape. This month, we celebrate significant milestones that underscore the growing influence and impact of civil society at both national and regional levels. We proudly highlight the appointment of NANGO Executive Director, Mr. Ernest Nyimai, to the Executive Committee of the Southern Africa Council of NGOs (SAf-CNGO), a notable achievement for NANGO and a testament to Zimbabwean civil society's contribution to regional development discourse. We also reflect on our partnership with ZACRAS in celebrating excellence in community radio broadcasting in Bulawayo, reinforcing the critical role of community media in promoting citizen participation and local development. The edition further showcases the continued success of the Talk to Your Regulator Initiative, which has now directly supported the registration and compliance efforts of more than 300 organisations. The initiative continues to demonstrate that constructive engagement between civil society organisations and regulatory authorities can foster mutual understanding, improve compliance, and strengthen the enabling environment for civic action.
