Green Governance Zimbabwe (GGZ), a youth-led civil society organisation committed to advancing sustainable environmental management through citizen participation in natural resource governance, invites applications for the position of Agribusiness Intern. As a knowledge hub, GGZ facilitates engagement between communities, policymakers and stakeholders on environmental issues, while implementing resilient livelihood initiatives. The intern will support GGZ’s work in sustainable food systems, resilient livelihoods, youth entrepreneurship and agribusiness development.

Key responsibilities
- Support agricultural market research and value-chain assessments, and help identify market opportunities for farmers and young agribusiness entrepreneurs
- Support farmer and stakeholder engagement activities, field visits, trainings, workshops and stakeholder meetings
- Assist with data collection, entry, analysis and documentation
- Assist in developing simple business plans, market profiles and other agribusiness-related materials
- Support market-linkage activities between producers, buyers, suppliers and other value-chain actors
- Document project activities, success stories, lessons learned and emerging opportunities
- Assist project teams with the preparation of reports and presentations, and support the monitoring of agribusiness and livelihood activities
- Perform any other agribusiness-related duties as assigned
Qualifications and competencies
- Currently pursuing, or recently completed, a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Agriculture, Business Administration, Economics or a related field
- Demonstrated interest in sustainable agriculture, agribusiness, entrepreneurship and resilient livelihoods
- Ability to work and manage an urban farm, and to work with farmers, young people, communities and other stakeholders
- Good research, analytical and report-writing skills
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Willingness to undertake fieldwork
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in English and Shona
