NANGO Regional Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Facilitate and sustain regular communication with members within the region to ensure effective information flow and engagement.
- Maintain and regularly update an accurate and comprehensive regional membership database.
- Build and nurture strong professional relationships with members, partners, and other key stakeholders.
- Coordinate monitoring and evaluation efforts, including tracking results and assessing the impact of programmes and activities, in liaison with Head Office; and provide timely reports on regional developments and emerging trends.
- Provide operational and logistical support for the effective implementation of project activities and the fulfilment of regional office obligations.
- Support the development and strengthening of strategic alliances and networks among NGOs and other relevant stakeholders.
- Represent the association at high-level meetings, dialogue platforms, and engagement fora with stakeholders across the public sector, private sector, and civil society.
- Contribute to regional resource mobilisation and fundraising initiatives to support programme sustainability and growth.
- Coordinate regional governance processes, including Annual General Meetings (AGMs) and Board meetings, in liaison with the Regional Executive Committee (REC).
Required Competencies
- Demonstrates strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to rapidly process, synthesize, and integrate diverse information from multiple sources.
- Demonstrates sound knowledge of development issues and the civil society operating environment, including experience in engaging with and managing media relations.
- Demonstrates strong ability to build, manage, and sustain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders, including civil society actors, government institutions, development partners, and the private sector.
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively represent the organization at high-level forums, dialogue platforms, and strategic engagements.
- Demonstrates knowledge and application of monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track progress, assess impact, and inform evidence-based decision-making.
- Demonstrates the ability to identify and support opportunities for fundraising and resource mobilization to strengthen regional operations and programme sustainability.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Political Science, International Relations, Law, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in programme coordination, project management, or working within civil society organizations.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership building, particularly with government institutions, development partners, and civil society actors.
- Proven experience in organizing and facilitating meetings, workshops, and multi-stakeholder dialogue platforms.
- Experience in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on projects performance and impact.
- Demonstrated experience in advocacy, policy engagement, or representation at regional or national level platforms.
- Experience in resource mobilization, fundraising, or supporting grant implementation is an added advantage.
- Strong experience in report writing, documentation, and information management.
- Familiarity with the regulatory and operating environment for NGOs in Zimbabwe is highly desirable.
- Experience working in a membership-based organization or coordinating networks/coalitions will be an added advantage.
