House of Arts Association is inviting applications from suitably qualified and motivated recent graduates to fill the position of Finance and Administration Graduate Intern.
Position Summary
The Finance and Administration Graduate Intern will support the organisation’s finance and administrative functions while gaining practical experience in NGO financial management, project accounting, and office administration. This internship presents an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate seeking to build a career within the development and creative arts sectors.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and processing of payment vouchers.
- Maintain accurate digital and physical financial records.
- Support project budget tracking and financial documentation.
- Manage day-to-day office administration and correspondence.
- Maintain the organisation’s asset register.
- Coordinate logistical arrangements for meetings, workshops, festivals, and other organisational events.
- Support procurement processes by sourcing quotations and preparing procurement documentation.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with internal policies and development partner requirements.
- Participate in project monitoring, evaluations, and review processes.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- A Degree or Higher National Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A sound understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks will be an added advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with keen attention to detail.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
- A passion for youth development, community engagement, and the creative arts sector.
- Previous experience working with young people or within the NGO sector will be an added advantage.
- Residence in or proximity to Hatcliffe or the northern suburbs of Harare will be an added advantage.
